GEOFFREY HOLLIS

Geoffrey is a Director of Drew Associates Limited.  He was a Senior Policy Adviser with over 20 years’ experience of Government Service, 10 years of which were in Senior Management Positions in MAFF.  He has a thorough knowledge of UK and EC livestock industries and policies, having led MAFF’s Livestock Group from 1991 until his early retirement in 1996.  During this period he was much involved in CAP reform issues and was in charge of the implementation of new CAP arrangements.  A former member of the Intervention Board for Agricultural Produce, he has a detailed working knowledge of financial support arrangements.  He has particular expertise in information technology, good communication and drafting skills.  He was also formerly a non-executive Director of Dalgety Food Ingredients.

He has a profound knowledge of EU Member States Government machinery, having worked for three years in Brussels as the agricultural policy specialist in the UK’s Permanent Representation.  During this period, he was responsible for detailed negotiations with the Commission and other member states regarding the transitionary arrangements for CAP regimes following the UK succession.  This detailed experience would be invaluable to those countries involved in EU association/integration.
